Clarence "Sonny" Bettencourt

Clarence "Sonny" Bettencourt, 83, of Westport, formerly of Fall River, husband of Lorraine E. (Desrosiers) Bettencourt, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017.

He was employed by Hoyt Manufacturing and enjoyed gardening.

Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves three children, Sandra Bouchard and her husband Wilfred of Fall River, Victor Bettencourt of Westport and Michael Bettencourt and his wife Kimberly of Swansea; grandchildren, Gregory and Crystal Bouchard, Derrick Rego, Shannon Murphy, Kristen Brouillard, David, Nicholas and Kristopher Motta and Brandon and Marissa Bettencourt; siblings, Geraldine Desrosiers and Roland and John Bettencourt, all of Fall River and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Edward Bettencourt (wife Robin of Fall River); the brother of the late George Bettencourt and Barbara Cowen and the son of the late George and Mary Bettencourt.

His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the service from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River MA 02720.
