Claire Y. Boulanger, 91, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the beloved wife of Richard Boulanger, with whom she shared over 70 years of love and devotion.
She was the daughter of the late Adrien and Clara Lavoie. Claire was fortunate to be a domestic engineer, happily caring for her children and husband. Claire had many adventures with her loving husband Richard, she enjoyed vacations to the Caribbean, and spending time with family and friends in Portsmouth, RI and Machias, ME. Claire was athletic playing softball as a teen at Lafayette Park. Over the years, she enjoyed boating, skiing, snowmobiling and jet skiing.
She was lovingly known as Lady Claire by many. She played tennis and bocce into her eighties and was an active member of the Columbiettes at San Marco Catholic Church while wintering in Marco Island, FL. Her other pastimes included bowling, playing uno with her grandchildren, playing and always seeming to win at bingo, and she especially loved shopping, wanting to find clothes or shoes with sparkles and jewelry to match each outfit.
Claire and her husband were fortunate to create a lifetime of cherished memories as they were truly blessed to have found their soulmate in each other and be surrounded by their loving children, extended family, and their many friends throughout all the stages of their lives. A life well lived!
Besides her husband, Claire is survived by her children, Dr. Richard C. Boulanger (wife Colette), Colleen A. Driscoll (husband Jeffrey), and Michelle Arden Swimm (husband Derrick); her grandchildren Adam Boulanger (wife Cati), Philip Boulanger (wife Lauren), Adrien Boulanger (wife Hope), Jonathan Driscoll (wife Amy), Jocelyn Sector, Brittany Pettine (husband Kevin), Cory Arden (fiancé Emily), Rebecca Fogarty (husband Pete), Cole Boulanger (wife Sierra), eight great-grandchildren and her sister Madeleine Lanneville (husband Paul). She was the mother of the late Thomas A. Boulanger (wife Lisa), and sister of the late Lucille Petit, Georgette Swindells and Jacqueline Perry.
Claire’s family would like to thank the staff from Unit 5 at Catholic Memorial Home and all the other team members who enriched Claire and Richard’s life by treating them both as if they were caring for their own loved ones.
