Christine Nadeau, 72, died peacefully at her home in Tiverton, Rhode Island on April 5, 2025 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a nine month courageous fight against cancer.
The daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Girza, she was born in Fall River, MA on March 2, 1953. She attended Mount St. Mary’s and UMass Dartmouth. She met her spouse Henry Nadeau fifty three years ago when their parents lived across the street from each other in Tiverton. They were married in 1976 and built a home in that same neighborhood, where they continued to reside and to raise their family until she passed away.
She was an avid gardener and she enjoyed most of her free time making her yard look beautiful. She was a very private person. Amongst all, she loved her family deeply and would do absolutely anything for them. Spending time with loved ones, including her grand “dogs” (Shane, Elliot, Jenna, and Doug) was always her highest priority.
Christine worked at St. Anne’s Hospital for over forty years in the lab. She also was part of the St. Stanislaus and St. Theresa Catholic Church communities. Throughout the course of her life, she made many close friends and co-workers everywhere she went.
Christine is survived by her husband Henry (“Hank”) Nadeau; her daughters Kari Miner (husband Mark Miner) and Elisha Morris (fiancé Anthony Ritacco); her grandchildren Garret Morris (wife Amber St. Hilaire) and Trent Morris (partner Kyla Barnhart); her sister and brother in law Joan and Matt Landoch; her nephews David (wife Jennifer) and Bryan (wife Kelly) Landoch; and many other loving cousins, other relatives and long time friends. She was lovingly referred to as “nana”.
Visitation will be held at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main Street, Fall River, MA 02721, on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, at 9:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa's Church, 265 Stafford Rd. Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.
