Cheryl (Martines) Rivard

Cheryl (Martines) Rivard, 61, of East Freetown, wife of Norman A. Rivard, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018.

She was a USPS window clerk for over 30 years in Fairhaven and Fall River. Cheryl was an avid hockey mom who enjoyed volunteering for Swansea Independent Baseball League and SWS Hockey. She was a Patriots and Bruins fan and enjoyed motorcycling, camping, gardening and traveling. An accomplished seamstress, she designed and created her own clothing in her younger years.

Besides her husband of 40 years, she leaves a son, Ryan Rivard and his wife Melissa of Seekonk; a grandson, Mathis A. Rivard; siblings, Manuel Martines (Gail Anderson) of Haverhill, MA, Karen Gaynor (David Cardoza) Michael S. Martines, all of Monterey, CA, Heather Mitchell Davidson (A. J. Davidson) of Boca Raton, FL and Martin Hart and Corey Hart, both of Canada; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Martines and Gloria (Ramos) Martines Mitchell; the stepdaughter of the late John Scott Mitchell and the sister of the late Cameron Mitchell.

Her funeral will be held Friday, September 21, at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Stanislaus Church at 10:00 AM.
