Charles Silva

Charles Silva, 79, of Valley Springs, California, formerly of Adamsville, RI, died Monday, February 19, 2007 in Valley Springs. He was the former husband of Martha Silva. Born in Little Compton, RI he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Maria (Medeiros) Silva. Mr. Silva had been employed by R. Zoppo Construction Company, Norwood. He attended the Wilbur School, Little Compton and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Besides his former wife, He leaves a son, Douglas Silva of Valley Springs, 2 daughters, Joyce Arbuckle and Charlotte Bidig, both of Tracy, CA; 2 brothers, Raymond Silva of Fall River, and Richard Silva of Gardnerville, Nevada; 6 sisters, Alice Weathers and Hilda Furtado, both of Fall River, Joan Berard and Catherine Magnuski, both of Swansea; and Nancy Langlais and Shirley Perry, both of Florida; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, And many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Cline, Irene Tavares, Evelyn Flanagan, Joe Silva, Edward Silva, George Silva, Eddie Silva and Alfred Silva. All services were held in California.
