Charles H. Martin, Jr.

Charles H. Martin, Jr., 90, of Westport, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009. An aircraft mechanic, he worked at Quonset Point Naval Air Station and Otis Air Force Base, retiring in 1972. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 314. Survivors include children Judy Mazza and Charles "Henry" Martin III, both of Westport, siblings Clara Stewart of Westport and Virginia Dupont of Fall River, grandchildren William and Chuck Smith and Alice-Ann Willis, great-grandchildren Derek, Adam, Rafael and JR Willis and a favorite cousin, Althea Furtado. He was the son of the late Charles H. and Clara (Orton) Martin and the brother of the late Audie Martin. Charles donated his body to medical science. A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, 182 N. Main St. Fall River, MA 02720 appreciated.
