Cecile E. Masse

Cecile E. Masse, 82, of Barlow St., Fall River, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Catholic Memorial Home. A lifelong resident of Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Anne Marie (Roy) Masse. A graduate of L'Academie Jesus Marie, she was manager of F. W. Woolworth's Pleasant Street Department Store, in the "Flint" section of Fall River for many years. A member of Notre Dame Parish, she was a Marian Medal recipient, a bingo bookkeeper for 20 years and a member of the Children of Mary. She was a member of the Friends of Saint Anne's Hospital and a hospital gift ship volunteer, a Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home and Catholic Memorial Home volunteer, a member of L'Association Francophone, L'Union Ste-Jean-Baptiste, the Friends of the Fall River Public Library, the Fall River Women's Club and the Fall River Historical Society and a board member of Notre Dame Credit Union. Survivors include 2 brothers, Dr. Eugene H. Masse and his wife Eileen of Bradenton, Florida and Armand Masse and his wife Helen of Bay Village, Ohio and 8 nieces and nephews, Monique Venne, Janine Triller, Murielle Morris, Daniel Gamache, Anne Marie Zeuch, Michelle Hager, Mark Masse and Francine Lespasio. She was the sister of the late Pauline Gamache (widow of Lt. Col. George Gamache), Fernand Masse and Gertrude Masse. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held Thursday, June 29 at 11:00 in Notre Dame Church. Visitation and flowers omitted.
