Cecile E. Cummings

Cécile E. (Blanchette) Cummings, 96, of Fall River, wife of the late Hervé Cummings, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

She is survived by her sister, Rita (Blanchette) Provost (late husband Maurice). Also by her nieces and nephews, Andre Provost, Mich&egravele Provost, Constance Cécile Messier who is also her goddaughter, Roger Provost, Daniel Provost, Bob Blanchette and her godson, Rev. David Marcham; grandnieces and grandnephews, Sarah Luddy, Gabriel Luddy, Alex Luddy, Fabienne McElency, Katherine Messier, Ian Provost, Lauren Provost and Alison Provost; great-grandniece, Leila Fiala; great-grandnephew, Rupert Fiala. She was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Delvina (Lepine) Blanchette and the sister of the late Robert Blanchette.

A graduate of Dominican Academy and Bristol Community College, she was employed by Maplewood Yarns and then by the Bristol County Superior Court, retiring as Assistant Clerk Magistrate.

Cécile was an accomplished musician, painter, world traveler and avid golfer. She was an active member of many organizations including; the Francophone Association of Fall River, The Classy Ladies, Dominican Academy Alumni Association, S.H.I.N.E., Bristol County Legal Secretaries Association, South Coast Opera Club, and St. Anne's Choir. Cécile was an advocate for Senior Elder Affairs and a proud member of the Peloquin Chorale. Cecile enjoyed life and lived it to it's fullest. She brought joy and happiness to many and will be sadly missed.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 12:30 PM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, MA with a funeral mass at St. Anne Shrine at 1:00 PM.

Visitation will be held Monday prior to the funeral from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will be private. Online guest book at AuclairFuneralHome.com.
