Cecile (Alves) Couture

Cecile B. (Alves) Couture, 72 , formerly of Sycamore Terrace, Somerset, MA passed away on Friday, November 11,2005 at the Catholic Memorial Home,Fall River, MA, where she has resided for the past 9 years. She was the wife of Roger J. Couture. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel C. and Yvonne (Richard) Alves. A member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, she had been employed at the Stop and Shop in Somerset, MA. Besides her husband of 45 years, she is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Couture-Rogers and her husband,Daniel of Marion, MA- a son, John R. "Cookie" Couture and his wife Tricia of Dighton,MA and was the mother of the late Robert R.Couture. 5 Grandchildren, Sarah, Carolyn and Patrick Rogers and Andrew and Matthew Couture. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Silva of New Bedford and 4 brothers,Gilbert and Richard Alves of Acushnet, Gerard Alves of Falmouth and Brother Paul Alves of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Milton,MA. She was the sister of the late Victor Alves of Connecticut Her funeral was private. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assn., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown MA 02472.
