Carlos "Chief" Belchior

Carlos "Chief" Belchior, 65, of Berkley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

He was the loving husband of Celina (Botelho) Belchior.

Born in St.Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Belchior and Lourdegardia (Machado) Belchior.

He owned his own textile cutting company for many years before becoming self-employed as a real estate investor. Carlos enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved to travel with his close friends and family. He was a master craftsman. There wasn’t anything Carlos couldn’t build or fix.

Besides his wife of 45 years, he leaves behind his two children, Cindy Longano (husband Antonio), Corey Belchior (fiancée Lyla Frazer), and the late Christine Belchior; He also leaves his grandchildren, Adalina and Cristiano Longano; His siblings, Louis Belchior and wife Lina, Leticia Belchior, Guida Carvalho and her husband Luis, Nelia Costa and her husband Paul, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

On the outside Carlos had a hard exterior, but everyone who knew him, knew he was loving, kind-hearted and generous. He was a loving father, to the highest level. He always worried about his children’s well being and took pride in all their accomplishments. Carlos was a great man, selfless, and the type of person that would drop anything he was doing to help someone.

Carlos loved life. He would not want anyone to be sad that he is gone. He would want everyone to smile and remember all of the good times and beautiful memories. He would want us to laugh and enjoy living.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Sunday, September 10, 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be held Monday, September 11, at 8:45 A.M. from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
