Brother Normand Simoneau, FIC, 89, formerly known as Brother Benjamin, of Eastern Ave., Fall River, died Thursday, September 24, 2009. An intellect and master carpenter, he entered the Juniorate of the Brothers of Christian Instruction in 1932 in Alfred, Maine and the Novitiate of the Brothers in LaPrairie, Quebec, Canada in 1935, making his Perpetual Profession in 1941. During his 74 years of religious life as a Teacher, Principal, Superior and Plant Manager, he served in Plattsburg, NY, Biddeford, Waterville, Alfred and Wilton, ME, Jersey Island, English Channel and in Fall River at Msgr. Prevost High School and Bishop Connolly High School. He leaves a sister, Annette Nadeau of Windsor Locks, CT and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Napoleon and Dorilla (Roy) Simoneau and the brother of the late Rita Boucher and Marcel Simoneau. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Alfred, Maine. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
