Bertionio Masciarelli, 93, of 2446 Highland Avenue, Fall River, formerly of Pebble Street, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Catholic Memorial Home after an extended period of declining health.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Gaetano Masciarelli and the late Marietta (Ragnone) Masciarelli. He recently lost his beloved wife, Bertha (Palmer) Masciarell after 66 years of marriage.
He was a WW II army veteran having served with the 188th Engineer Combat Battalion for nearly three years.
He worked in the local textile industry and also at the Torpedo Station in Newport, R.I. Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking as a hobby, viewing old movies, and looked forward to family vacations. He leaves a son, Benjamin (and his wife Durelle) Masciarelli of Merrimack, NH; grandsons, Scott Masciarelli of Reston, VA and Brian Masciarelli, of Merrimack, NH; a sister, Martha Masciarelli of Fall River and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Lena (Masciarelli) Ricci and Dominic, Acquiline and Arthur Masciarelli, all of Fall River.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in the Chapel of Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., at 9:30 AM. Burial, St.Patrick Cemetery.
Visitation, Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
