Bertha (Lafleur) Arruda

Bertha (Lafleur) Arruda, 95, of Westport, widow of Manuel Arruda, died Thursday, September 2, 2010. She was employed by Nancy Dress and NBC Garment and enjoyed Foxwoods Casino, bingo and dancing. She was a former member of the Westport Senior Citizens Club, Our Lady of Grace Parish Senior Citizens Club, and was a volunteer at Our Lady of Grace Parish Bingo. She leaves 3 children, Richard J. Arruda and his wife Donna of Fall River, Arthur Arruda of Swansea and Dolores "Dolly" Martin and her companion Antonio Aquino of Westport; her son-in-law Joseph Martin of Missouri; grandchildren, Dawn Tavares, Darrin Blais, Glenn Martin, Joye Ainsworth and Richard, Michael, Steven, Rhonda, Lisa, Jeffrey and Kimberly Arruda; 18 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Delphine Sanchez of Tiverton and Raymond Lafleur of Fall River; nieces, nephews and a very dear friend, Alice Ventura. She was the grandmother of the late Kevin W. Arruda; the daughter of the late Arthur and Delia (Potvin) Lafleur and the sister of the late Alice Ouellette and Arthur, Norman and Roland Lafleur. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Fall River, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
