Bernard McKenzie Coleman, Sr., 61, of Fall River, Massachusetts, died Thursday, March 31, 2011. He was born in Alexandria, LA on September 15, 1949. A Vietnam War veteran, and a member of the American Legion, he served in the Air Force for fifteen years and worked in the field of mental health. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Ivette (Torres Feliciano) Coleman; three sons, Bernard M. Coleman, Jr., Adrian D. Coleman and Ramon G. Coleman; grandchildren Shalon, Aiden and Steven Coleman; and his beloved friend Christine Ture, all of Fall River; sisters, Gwendolyn Y. Elmore of Alexandria, LA and Doris Hammond of Ruby, LA; a cousin, John D. Fay of Alexandria, LA; nieces Michelle and Denise Elmore and extended family. Brothers Ruben (R.C.) Coleman and Morris Coleman were among family members to precede Bernard in death. He was the son of the late McKenzie Coleman and Edna B. Fay Young; and the stepson of the late Sanford " Gibbs" Young. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 6th at 10:30 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Tuesday, April 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
