Beatrice E. "Bea" (Desrochers) Blais, 86, of Riverview Towers, Milliken Blvd., Fall River, formerly of Nelson St., loving wife of 57 years of the late Omer R. "Lefty" Blais, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, January 16, 2009.
A devoted homemaker and mother, she enjoyed being with her family and friends, sewing, dancing, traveling, bowling, playing cards and bingo. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.
Surviving Beatrice are her 5 children, Paul Blais and his wife Heidi of New Hampshire, Gerry Blais and his wife Janet of Tiverton, Vivian Fagan and her husband John of Westport, Robert Blais and his wife Debra of Chepachet, RI and Nancy Fingliss and her husband Joseph of Somerset; 8 grandchildren, Kelly Fagan, Holly Blais, Jared Blais, Emily Blais, Erica Blais, Thomas Blais, Joseph P. Fingliss, III and Zachary P. Fingliss; a brother, Bob Desrochers and nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late George and Virginie (Viens) Desrochers and the sister of the late Georgette Brault and Rene and Rodolphe Desrochers.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. Donations to Hospice and Palliative Care, 502 Bedford St., Fall River MA 02720 would be greatly appreciated.
