Barbara A. O'Neil

Barbara A. (Callahan) O'Neil, 83, of Fall River, wife of 61 years of William F. O'Neil, FRPD, Ret., passed away Monday, July 16, 2018.

A graduate of St. Patrick Grammar School and a member of Mount St. Mary High School, Class of 1953, she was employed by the Fall River Credit Bureau, Kenneth Dress Mfg., Four Seasons Sportwear and CHF Industries-Aberdeen Mfg., retiring in 1999.

She had been a St. Anne's Hospital volunteer for 18 years, secretary of Saints Peter & Paul Home School Organization, a member of Cursillo Movement # 60 and St. Helena's Ultreya, Promoter of the Miraculous Medal Association and Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Saints Peter & Paul Parish and Holy Cross Chapel.

She was the mother of the late William F. O'Neil, III (wife Diane of Fall River), Karen Costa (husband David) of Somerset and Dennis O'Neil, FRPD, Ret. (wife Doreen) of Fall River; the grandmother of Valerie Costa, Kathleen Kuhn (John), Jessica Carvalho (Kenneth), Kathryn Gaspar (Carlos), Erin De Leon (Jeffrey) and Carolyn O'Neil; the great-grandmother of Jacob Biello, Sarah and Frederick Renovato, Logan and Brady Gaspar and Zachary W. Carvalho; and a brother, Leo Callahan of New York. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Leah (Sanspitie) Callahan and the sister of the late Sister Marie Regina Callahan, SCMC.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 7:30 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Cross Chapel at 8:30 AM. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery.
