Barbara J. Garant

Barbara J. (Cook) Garant, 93, of Fall River, passed away on October 4, 2024. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Garant.

She enjoyed sewing, reading books on her back patio, going to garage sales, and interacting with her many tenants throughout the years. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and playing the piano.

She was the mother of Joyce Altuna, Judith Burns, David Garant (wife Kerri), Alan Garant (wife Sharon), and Gary Garant; the adoptive mother of Mark Garant, and Tammy Martin (husband Richard); the grandmother to many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; the sister of Penelope Fife (late husband Charles), Robert Cook (late wife Eleanor), and Marilyn Joynt (husband Gerald). 

She was the daughter of the late John and Marguerite (O’Gara) Cook; and the mother of the late Nancy Garant, Carol Welch, and Gerard Albert Garant; she was the sister of the late Donald Cook (late wife Virginia).

Her visitation will be held on Friday October 11, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M., at Good Shepherd Church, S. Main Street Fall River. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
