Arthur H. Henderson

Arthur H. Henderson, 76, of Tiverton, formerly of Fall River, husband of Mary E. "Betty" (Cabral) Henderson, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

A graduate of BMC Durfee High School and Southeastern Massachusetts University, he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, the Defense Department at the Newport Naval Base and was a substitute teacher in area school systems.

He was a youth basketball and Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island softball and volleyball official and an avid sports fan of the New England teams. He enjoyed bicycling and the beach.

A loving family man, he leaves his wife of 49 years; twin sons, Douglas Henderson and Christopher Henderson, both of Westerly, RI; grandchildren, Eric, Celia and Maya Henderson; a brother, Forest E. Henderson and his wife Eilene of Bourne, MA. He was the son of the late Arthur W. and Edna L. (Heath) Henderson.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:45 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Christopher Church, Tiverton at 11:00 AM.

Visitation, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 No. Main St., Providence RI 02904.
