Arlindo F. Porto

Arlindo F. Porto, 74, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, after a long battle against mantle cell lymphoma.

He was the husband of Ana Maria Gomes Porto. They shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Governador Valadares, M.G., Brazil, he was the son of the late Antonio Porto and Filomena Porto.

He worked for "Fertimental Metais", a sheet metal factory, for many years in Brazil, before opening up his own pub/bar which he managed until he moved to the U.S. in 2010.

During his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his garden, and spending time with his family during "churrascos", the traditional Brazilian barbecue.

Besides his wife he leaves two children, Luciany Furtado and husband Manoel Furtado Neto of Holbrook,MA and Luiz Porto and wife Ana Karine Ponte-Porto of Swansea;

Six grandchildren - Priscila Alves and husband Alexsandro Alves, Alterino Melo, João Henrique Camilo, Jordan Camilo, Lukas Porto, and Matheus Porto;

Three great-grandchildren - Alesandra Alves, Gabriel Alves, and Annabelle Melo; Siblings (all living in Brazil) - Aurita Porto, Izaura Porto, José Ferreira Porto, Antônio Carlos Porto, Maria Aparecida Ferreira Porto, Valdir Ferreira Porto, Alrino Ferreira Porto and João Ferreira Porto(deceased);  Many nieces and nephews

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River with a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Prospect St. Fall River.
