Antonio "Tony Joe" Medeiros

Antonio "Tony Joe" Medeiros, 52, of Hicks St., Fall River, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Lurdes (Medeiros) Medeiros. Born in Ponta Garca, San Miguel, Azores, the son of Antonio Inacio Medeiros of St. Michael, Azores and the late Maria Angelina Bento Sampaio, he had lived in Fall River from 1979 to 1986, returning to the Azores for 17 years and living once again in Fall River for the past 3 years. He served in the Portuguese Army, loved fishing, hunting, farming and spending time with his family, and was employed by T.M. Masonry for the past several years. Besides his wife of 28 years and father, he is survived by 2 daughters, Marcia M. Pinheiro and her husband Renato and Leslie A. Medeiros-Pimentel and her husband Helder "Camel" Pimentel, all of Fall River; a son, Antonio Sergio Medeiros of Fall River; 2 sisters, Maria G. Oliveira and Maria do Santo Cristo Medeiros Arruda, both of St. Michael, Azores; 4 brothers, Joao Manuel Sampaio Medeiros, Duarte Sampaio Medeiros, Luis Alberto Sampaio Medeiros and Armando Sampaio Medeiros, all of St. Michael Azores and nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church at 10:00 AM. Visitation, Friday 6:00 to 9:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
