Antonio F. Soares

Antonio "Tony" Soares, 78, of Fall River, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023.

He was the husband of Zulmira  (Roque) Soares.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Soares Menezes and Deolinda Conceição Souza.

He served in the Portuguese Army.

Antonio was employed by O’Day Boats and Arkwright Finishing.  He was loving and accepting of everyone.  All who met him loved him.  A Benfica fan, he also enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.  He was a member of Santo Christo Parish.

Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves five children, Armando Soares, Sandra Soares, Patricia Soares, Grace Chapman, Rui Soares and was the father of the late Antonio A. Soares.

He also leaves grandchildren, Sonny, Jae, Tevin, Candace, Brittney, Michaella,Mackenzie, Azaria, Mateus; great-grandchildren Tyrone, Jaeda, Nyeli, Adelina, Benjamin, Marcel and Noel;

siblings, Belmira Amaral, Hortência Soares, Connie Menezes, Esmeralda Raposa, Laudlina Goncalves, Osvaldo Menezes and was brother of the late Eduardo Soares, Manuel Soares, Jacinto Menezes and Ana Rodrigues.  He leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 16, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be Saturday, June 17 at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. at 9:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery.
