Antone "Sixteen" Santos

Antone O. "Sixteen" Santos, 82, of Westport, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006. He was the husband of Barbara (Paquin) Lavigne Santos. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Amos and Evelyn (Correira) Santos, he lived in Fall River most of his life. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a nursing assistant at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital for many years. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter Deborah Rebello of Westport; 4 stepdaughters, Susan Souza and Cynthia Ann Harrington, both of Fall River, Karen Smith of Maine and Michelle O'Brien of Somerset; 2 stepsons, Raymond R. Lavigne, Jr. of Fall River and Carl Lavigne of Westport; 3 brothers, John "Sharky" Santos, Noel "Sonny" Santos and Amos S. Oliveira, all of Fall River; 3 sisters, Alma Blais and Beatrice "Pee Wee" Lima, both of Westport and Georgianna Beene of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mark Alan Lavigne and Carrie Ann Pelland and the brother of the late Manuel O. Santos, Irene Ruddy and Lillian Cestodio. His funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 9:00. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home.
