Anthony J. "Gus" Garside

Anthony J. "Gus" Garside, 78, of Fall River, husband of Jacqueline "Jackie" (Rogers) Garside, died Thursday, December 8, 2011. A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational High School, Class of 1951, he was employed by Pioneer Finishing Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1994. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was the recipient of numerous decorations including the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves two children, Dennis Garside and his wife Judy of New Hampshire and Linda Lewis and her husband Alfred of Fall River; five grandchildren Fred, Rachel and Anthony Lewis, and Jennifer and Dennis Garside; and will also be sadly missed by his dog "Buddy". He was the son of the late Anthony and Belmira (Gomes) Garside; and the brother of the late Theresa Morris. His funeral was private. Visitation and flowers omitted.
