Annette Bilodeau (Chouinard) Gilbert

Annette (Chouinard) Bilodeau Gilbert 87, formerly of Gifford Ave., Somerset, widow of Dr. Leonard Bilodeau and Lt. Col. William Gilbert, USA, died Saturday, September 13, 2014. A graduate of Dominican Academy and Rivier College, she taught at Sacred Hearts Academy, Fairhaven, was dental assistant in the practice of her late husband and was a Somerset Spectator columnist. She was a member of the Friends of Saint Anne's Hospital. She was the mother of Jeannine Lavigne (husband Carl) of Westport and Anita Soares (husband Mark) of Swansea; the stepmother of Ragan Gilbert (wife Andrea) of Florida and the late Russell Gilbert (wife Donna of Florida) and John Gilbert (wife Christine of Florida); the grandmother of Heidi Lavigne, Kyle Lavigne, Jeremy Soares, Jennifer Soares and the late Christopher Lee Bilodeau; the step-grandmother of Anna, Karen, Taylor, John and David Gilbert; the step-great-grandmother of Clementine and Penelope Knight; the sister of Cecile Sirois of Exeter NH; the daughter of the late Marie Eva (Canfield) Chouinard and Alfred J. Chouinard, FRFD; the sister-in-law of the late Fernand and Jeanne "Joan" (Bilodeau) Auclair and Sally Lockhart and the aunt of Paul Sirois, Elaine Wooles, Claire Jette, Louise, Robert, Fernand "Skip", Denis and David Auclair, Judith Hodge and Marie Panek. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 11:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Visitation, Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
