Anna M. Kirshak, 94, a resident at Cra-Mar Meadows Nursing Home, Cranston RI, formerly of 392 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, RI and of 971 Rodman Street, Fall River, MA, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014. She was the wife of the late William J. Kirshak. They were married for 55 years. Born in Fall River, Mass, she was the daughter of the late Mary Szurko (Skotesky), and the late Peter Szurko and the sister of the late Paul Shurko. Anna was the daughter of the owner and operators of Peter's Package Store, 971 Rodman Street, Fall River, MA. She replaced them on their retirement. The family had been in the package goods business since the day after prohibition until the early 1980's. She also spent many years working at Cherry & Webb Department Store, in downtown Fall River. She was a member of St. John's Ukrainian Church, Fall River, and an active member of the Church's Ladies Guild. She leaves 2 children, Raymond P. Kirshak of Centreville, Virginia and Dorothy Kirshak-Platter of Cranston RI, and was the mother of the late William M. Kirshak. Anna was the grandmother of Andrew K. Kirshak, Brandon W. Platter, and Leha Platter-Guilmette, along with, 2 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Guilmette, Jr, and Sophia Grace Guilmette and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, relatives and friends are invited to a committal service celebrated for Anna on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel of Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River, MA 02721.
