Andre A. "Andy" Roy

Andre A. "Andy" Roy, 82, of Merritt Ave., Tiverton, husband of Jeannette (Francoeur) Roy, died Monday, March 2, 2009. He was employed by the Foxboro Co. and was a Fourth Degree member of the Fr. Boehr Council # 4753 Knights of Columbus, Tiverton. An Army veteran of WWII, he also served in both the Navy and Army Reserve for many years. He worked at the Knights of Columbus Bingo for many years and was known as the "Rip-off Man". He was member of the Knights of Columbus Bowling League and the Horseshoe League. He was also member of the St. Mary's Cathedral Seniors Club & the Retired Retail Clerks. Andy also enjoyed golfing with his brothers-in-law. Besides his wife of 60 years he leaves 4 children, Richard A. Roy and his wife Christine and Susan D. Plourde and her husband Robert, all of Portsmouth, RI, Diane R. Venafro and her husband Louis of Tiverton and Kenneth W. Roy and his wife Tina of Pawtucket; 4 grandchildren Brian, Kevin, Steven and Jason Plourde; siblings, Yvette Yokel and Lucille Benoit, both of Fall River and Alfred Roy of Bridgewater and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late William "Willie" and Marianna (Paradis) Roy and the brother of the late Yvonne Proulx. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
