Alice (Bouffard) Vermette

March 10, 1910 — August 13, 2008

Alice (Bouffard) Vermette, 98, of Highland Ave., Fall River, formerly of Plymouth Ave. and Borden Place East, widow of Alphonse Vermette, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008. The daughter of the late Gaudias and Alvine (Ferland) Bouffard, she was a weaver in the King Philip Mills and a seamstress at Schneirson Mfg. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed bingo and playing cards and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of St. Anne Parish, the Happy Group, Royal Travelers and the Borden Place East Council and board of directors. She leaves 3 children, Donald R. Vermette and his wife Barbara of Fall River, Jeannine Pires and her husband Salvador or Centerville, MA and Paul M. Vermette and his wife Sandra of Newton, MA; 7 grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren; sisters Germaine Bastille of Somerset and Marie Rose Jean of Fall River and nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River MA 02720.
