Alice (Cabral) Holmes

Alice (Cabral) Holmes, 95 of Fall River, passed away on November 7, 2022 at Southpoint Rehabilitation.
She was the wife of the late Lloyd A. Holmes. They were happily married for 77 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Joseph and Louiza (Raposa) Cabral.
Alice worked as a sewing machine operator in several mills in Fall River and was a member of The
Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union Local 177. Upon retirement, Alice and Lloyd bought and operated
Alice’s Trolley Stop in Charlestown, NH for 6 years.
Alice enjoyed traveling and visiting the casinos.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Bruneau of Fall River, her grandchildren: Lisa Otis (Tim) of
Dighton, Wendy Holmes of Dighton, Scott Holmes (Jodi) of Westport and Robert Scanlon (Anne) of
Walpole, NH, 9 great- grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Lloyd B. Holmes; grandmother of the late James K. Scanlon and Heidi
Bruneau: and the sister of the late Mae Fernandes, Edward Cabral, Manuel Cabral, Joseph Cabral, John
Cabral and Frank Cabral.
