Alice Marie (Deschenes) Beauchesne

Alice Marie (Deschenes) Beauchesne, 82, of Brockton, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was the wife of Robert Beauchesne for 56 years.

Alice graduated as a registered nurse from St. Anne’s School of Nursing. She worked at St. Anne's Hospital for several years until she moved to Brockton.  While the children were attending elementary school, she volunteered as a tutor.  She reentered the workforce and, continuing to look for ways to help others, she worked as a Teacher's aide at a Nursery school until they closed several years later. She then worked at BAMSI's Early Childhood Intervention Center, where she worked with children with developmental disabilities.  Wherever she worked, as her coworkers would attest, she demonstrated a passion for the work and a constant willingness to help others.  Outside of work, Alice enjoyed sewing, bike riding, ice skating, hiking, birdwatching and even aiding her husband in the many home construction projects that they took on for themselves -- as well as for others.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Michelle Beauchesne, Joseph Beauchesne (wife Carolyn), David Beauchesne (wife Caryn), and Rachelle Beauchesne; Grandchildren, Celeste, Aimee, John, Drew, Thomas, Brady, and Matthew; siblings, Lauretta Gonyon (husband Daryl), Claudette St. Laurent (husband Robert), Lucille Tarvis (husband Antone), Anne Marie Mayes (husband Elmer), Irene Deschenes, Robert Deschenes (wife Yvette) and Albert Deschenes (late wife Maria).

She was the daughter of the late Albert Deschenes and Bermonde (Lemieux) Deschenes. She was the sister of the late Sister Rita Deschenes, S.S.J., Pauline Deschenes, Paul Deschenes, Doris Vallee, Raymond J. Deschenes and Richard Deschenes.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  and Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M.

at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St. Fall River.
