Alfred Rocha

Alfred Rocha, 90, of Fall River, husband of Florence M. (Rocha) Rocha, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018.

He was a Navy veteran and employed by Pilgrim Curtain and retired from Rex-Cut Abrasives.

A man of unquestionable faith with a contagious smile, Al’s interests revolved around his proudest and most cherished possession: his family. Whether it be at a church, dinner table, cruise ship, casino, or ballpark, wherever his family was, that was where he wanted to be. Married for 66 remarkable years to his best friend and the love of his life, Flocie, together they provided the foundation and example for how to build, care for, and love family. Al was a firm believer that just about any ailment or obstacle in life could be overcome with God, family, a glass of good wine, and the generous application of rubbing alcohol.

Besides his wife of 66 years, he leaves two daughters, Ann Marie Connolly (husband William) of Little Compton and Brenda Gagnon (husband Paul) of Fall River; a granddaughter, Katherine Connolly Sadeck (husband Joshua) of Westport; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Angela Silvia, Evelyn Simas, Delia Ferreira, Antone Rocha, and Lorraine Rocha and the son of the late Joseph and Gloria (Oliviera) Rocha.

His funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from Auclair Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd., at 11:00 a.m.  Burial, Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton. Visitation Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
