Alberto R. Mello

Alberto R. Mello, 76, of East Main St., Fall River, husband of the late Hilda (Tavares) Mello, died Friday, July 11, 2008. Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Jacinto and Rosa (Lindo) Mello, he lived in Fall River for the past 41 years. He was employed by J & J Corrugated Box Co. A soccer and hockey fan, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting. He leaves 7 children, Lucy DeMelo (Joseph) of Fall River, Lina Belchior (Luis) of Berkley, Neomi Albergaria (Richard) of Somerset, George Mello (Filomena) and Natalie Sousa, all of Fall River, John Mello of Lisbon, Portugal and Jerry Mello (Sabrina) of Fall River; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, John Mello, David Rapose, Sara Ferreira and Ester Neto, all of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jeremiah, Jose, Naomi and Lina Mello. A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a graveside service in Notre Dame Cemetery at 10:00 AM. Visitation, Monday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
