Alberto T. Demelo

Alberto T. deMelo, 83, of Brayton Ave., Fall River, husband of the late Idalina (Pacheco) deMelo and father of the late John A. DeMello, died Sunday, April 19, 2015. A well known painting and paperhanging contractor, he was a Sergeant in the Portuguese Army Military Band and was a member of the Our Lady of Light Band. He leaves brothers, Manuel T. deMelo of Fall River and Carlos T. deMelo of Pico, Azores; his beloved companion, Maria Coralia Silva and her children, Victor Silva of Attleboro and Manuel, John, Tobias, Philomena and Dolores; and nieces and nephews including, Maria Regina DeMelo (husband Mario) and Albino Machado (wife Maria), all of Tiverton, Jose daSilva (wife Manuela) of Bristol, RI, Maria Santos (husband Victor) of Taunton and Maria Martins (husband Gil) of Somerset. He was the son of the late Jose Joaquim and Virginia (Soares Teixeira) deMelo and the brother of the late Maria Machado and Virginia, Jacintha, Jose T. and Antonio T. deMelo. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
