Albert L. St.Amour

Albert Leo "Gus" St. Amour, 93, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018. He was the husband of Claire (Doucet) St. Amour. The son of the late Ulric and Flora (Moreau) St. Amour, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River.

Gus worked as an electrician and was a 70 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. A three letterman in football, basketball and baseball while at BMC Durfee High School, he was inducted into the Durfee Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992.

After returning from his years of US Army service in World War II in France, Belgium and Germany, he played baseball and basketball for city league teams: Frazier’s and Mannings, for several years. Gus was an avid and accomplished bowler and a wonderful dancer.

Besides his wife of 67 years, he leaves three children, Richard (Susan Hinchcliffe), Suzanne (Dennis Almeida) and Michele Buchanan (Kevin), five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Alice Kraska, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings. Beatrice Berube, Isabel Ciafardini, Florence "Flossie" Labecki and Edmund, Frederick "Dick", Norman "Biggy" and Robert St.Amour.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial will be private. Online guest book at AuclairFuneralHome.com.
