Albert E. "Coutch" Couturier, of Fall River, husband of Gladys (Pontifice) Couturier, died Monday, October 22, 2012. He operated the Peckham Street Garage for 60 years. An Army Air Forces veteran of WW II and the Cuban Missile Crisis, Sergeant First Class Couturier was a member and also a civilian employee of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for forty years. He was a Life Member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tiverton, the American Legion, Post 314 and the 20th. Air Force Retirees. Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves a sister Judith Sowersby of North Carolina; Robert "Bobby" Saraiva and his wife Barbara of Fall River; and nieces and nephews including George Sowersby and Pamela Brooks of NC. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 5:00 to 9:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Coutch's family is grateful for the care he received from the Atwood 5 North staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital and have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Charlton Memorial Hospital, 363 Highland Ave., Fall River MA 02720.
