Alban E. Chouinard

Alban E. Chouinard, 88, of Alsop St., Fall River, husband of the late Rita I. (Bussiere) Chouinard, died Friday, November 25, 2011. He was a John Hancock Insurance Co. agent for 37 years and a member of the Holy Name Society of Notre Dame Parish. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a surgical technician and was awarded the Combat Medical Badge. He served overseas with Co. C, 301st Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Division. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and golfing and was a self taught portrait artist, six of his oil paintings being displayed in Notre Dame Church. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. He leaves two children, Gilbert A. Chouinard and his wife Carol of Fall River and Elaine Damme and her husband Bruce of Delaware; grandchildren, Johnathan Chouinard and his wife Robin, Megan Celt, Margaux Taskes, and Matthew Ratte; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Chouinard; brothers, Roger Chouinard (wife Cecile) of Florida, and Robert Chouinard (wife Gertrude) of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Ferdinand and Marie Anne (Labonte) Chouinard; and the brother of the late Rene Chouinard (wife Florence of Fall River), Alcide Chouinard (wife late Adrienne), and Yvette Bienvenue (husband late Raymond). His funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 11:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Sunday 3:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
