Agnes C. (Mccarthy) Murray

Agnes C. (McCarthy) Murray, 94, of Fall River, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Saint Anne’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Murray.
Born, raised and a life long resident of Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of Daniel J. McCarthy and Agnes C. (Murphy) McCarthy  of Fall River, MA.

Agnes was a devout Catholic and life long communicant of St. Patrick’s Parish (now called Good Shepherd Parish).  She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage, and surrounded herself with many Irish goods and collectibles over the years. Mrs. Murray was a loyal follower of all local sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox.
Family meant everything to Agnes, who raised her four children: Colleen Hackett, JoAnn Barrett and Mary Dunn all of Fall River, and the late J oseph F. Murray II . She also raised two of her six grandchildren, Julie Kayata of Somerset, MA and John Murray of Fall River, MA.

She had several nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mimi”.
Agnes is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Jagmin of Fall River, Maureen McCloskey of Ft. Meyers FL, and her brother, John McCarthy of Jupiter, FL.  She was the sister of the late Margaret "Peggy" Kardosz and Daniel J. McCarthy, Jr.

Visitation for Agnes will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church, South Main St. Fall River.  Burial, St.Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.
