Afonso P Dacosta

Afonso P. DaCosta, 71, of Fall River, husband of 51 years of Maria (Tavares) DaCosta, died Saturday, June 14, 2014. A retired steelworker and chef, he was employed by Belcher Foundry, Easton and Sagres Restaurant, Fall River. Born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miquel, Azores, he served in the military in Portugal and enjoyed gardening, photography and especially cooking for, and entertaining his family. He was the father of Grace Albergaria (Jimmy Thibeault), Anna Paula DaCosta (Luis Ormonde), all of Fall River, Clara Beausoleil (Roger) of Seekonk, Elizabeth Lecomte (Chris) of Swansea and the late infant son Paulo DaCosta; the grandfather of Cory Albergaria, David Parnell, Noah, Ashley and Tyler Beausoleil and Kylie, Keagan and Kaelyn Lecomte; the son of the late Joao DaCosta and Palmira Pereira; the brother of Renato DaCosta (Ann), Manuel DaCosta (Fatima), Luisa Sousa (Gustavo), Fernanda Fernandes, Eugenio DaCosta, Flavio DaCosta (Maria de Natale) and the late Jose DaCosta (Olga), Gustao DaCosta, Januario DaCosta (Zelia) and Geralda DaCosta and Joao DaCosta and the brother-in-law of Laurido Tavares (Maria Olinda), Lubelia Sampaio and Roberto Tavares (Ameelia). His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 9:00 AM. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
