Adelino “Al” Flores, Jr. FRPD, Ret., 93, of Fall River, husband of Claire L. (Guerette) Flores, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022.
A member of the Fall River Police Department for 25 years, Sergeant Flores was twice commended and was also a mutuel clerk at various race tracks for 47 years, retiring at the age of 79. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a 3rd. Division Infantryman and Bronze Star Medal recipient.
A member of the B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1947, he also held an associate degree in criminal justice.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, Fall River Lodge of Elks, Fall River Police Relief Assn., Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9 and the Retired State, County & Municipal Employees of Massachusetts.
An avid Boston sports fan, he loved the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.
Besides his wife of 69 years, he leaves 3 children, Susan Medeiros (husband Douglas) of Swansea and Paula Audette (husband Kevin) and Paul Flores, all of Fall River; the love of his life his granddaughter Liana Audette and siblings Norbert Flores (wife Vivian) and Lucille Medeiros (husband Robert).
He was the father of the late Kenneth M. Flores and Michael P. Flores and the son of the late Adelino and
Maria "Sadie" (Mello) Flores.
Visitation Wednesday, December 7, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:15 A.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St. Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM.
Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Association, 755 Pine St., Fall River MA 02720. Online guest book at AuclairFuneralHome.com.
