Abel M. Da Silva

Abel M. Da Silva, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the age of 80. He was the loving husband of Adriana M. (Ferreira) Silva for 54 years.

For many years, Abel proudly owned his own barber shop, Barbearia Portugal. Those who visited his shop not only received quality haircuts but also shared in the laughter and joy that Abel effortlessly brought into every conversation. His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends, whom he cherished deeply.

An ardent supporter of Benfica, Abel's love for the team was palpable, often bringing family and friends together to share in the excitement of the games. Beyond his passion for soccer, he found immense joy in nurturing his garden. His plants and vegetables thrived under his care, reflecting the same attention and love he gave to his loved ones.

Besides his wife, Abel leaves behind his daughter, Noemia Silva (wife Shannon LaMoureaux); his grandchildren, Samantha Couto, Mya Couto, and Connor Lofgren; and his brothers, Manuel Da Silva and John Da Silva.

Abel was preceded by his parents, Abel Manuel and Mary Joe (Almeida) Da Silva, as well as his daughters, Susan M. (Silva) Couto and Lisa Lofgren, his brothers Joseph Da Silva and Eddy Da Silva, and his sister Isabela Da Silva.

His visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from  8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main Street, Fall River, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church.
