A. Helena (Mongeon) Barnes

A. Helena (Mongeon) Barnes, 85, of Travers St., Swansea, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. She was the wife of James Barnes, Jr. Born in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late Anthony and Emeline (Richard) Mongeon, she lived in Swansea most of her life. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish. Besides her husband of 60 years she is survived by 3 sons, James Barnes, III of Providence, Bruce Barnes of New Bedford and Wayne Barnes of Rumford, RI; 4 daughters-in-law, Barbara, Victoria, Kathleen and Catherine Fortier Barnes; a grandson, David Barnes; a brother, Richard Mongeon of Newtonville, MA and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur Mongeon, Jeannette Perasso and Claire Zec. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Dominic Church, Swansea at 11:00. Calling hours Friday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home.
