James F. Pimental

James F. Pimental, 87, of Tiverton, passed into eternal life at his home, surrounded by his family members on Friday September 18th, 2020.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late James Pimental, Sr. and the late Mary (Freitas) Pimental, he lived in Tiverton most of his life. He was the loving husband of Lucette (Bastien) Pimental for 67 years; the father of two daughters, Christine Lemelin (husband Bill) and Brenda Raposa and son Jimmy Pimental (wife Wendy) his grandsons, Craig J. Raposa and Nathan Tappan predeceased him.  He has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves a brother Fred Pimental, two sisters, Marilyn DaCosta and Rosemary Perry.

James enlisted in the Army in 1951 and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal. After meeting Lucette in France, he returned home in 1954 with the woman he fell in love with and started his family. He built his home in Tiverton 59 years ago. A mason, he was employed as a foreman for several area construction companies in his lifetime.

He was a  member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen, Local 3, New Bedford Chapter for over 50 years. He grew up on Everett Street in Fall River and played soccer in the Flint area.  An avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, if he wasn't listening to them on the radio, he was watching them on TV. He also enjoyed going to Belmont Race Track and Suffix Down and betting on the winning horses.

When he retired from his trade he worked for Famous Pizza, Tiverton, delivering pizza, where he enjoyed hanging out at times or going to Foxwoods with the guys and playing a few hands of Blackjack.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning, September 22, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. (Face coverings and social distancing required)

Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Main Rd. Tiverton.

Due to Covid-19, there will not be a public reception following the burial.
