Joan Waterman Black, 66, of Fall River, passed Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Boston.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves behind daughters, Haley-Jean McManus (husband, Dr. Neil P. McManus) and Meghan Black; four grandchildren, Teagan, Pearl, Liam, and Rock; her fiancé, Atty. John P. Francoeur; sister, Maryann Burns and two nephews, Paul Forcina and Peter Burns.
She was the daughter of the late John B. Waterman, Jr. and Marion T. (Canole) Waterman.
She was a 1975 graduate of Tiverton High School and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's in Humanities in 1988 from University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth (SMU).
Together, with John, they opened the doors of the John Francoeur Law Offices in 2018, working side by side until her retirement in 2022
Born and raised in Rhode Island, she was a sunworshiper, happily spending every summer day on the beach with her daughters.
When not in the office, Joan devoted time to her favorite TV judge, Judge Judy, her grandchildren and visiting her and John's favorite spots in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, from 2 to 5pm at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
